Get mirc5.4 NOW!
mIRC is a good
Windows 95
Windows95
Based Client. Not as good as vIRC in some areas of communication, but a good client.
mIRC is very easy to use and script yet is very powerful.
* Recommended
mIRC 16-Bit version for windows 3.11

vircnow.gif
vIRC is kind of hard to configure; mainly because it has many, many options to choose from. It also has many types of communication mirc doesnt, such as audio/visual communication.
Sort of hard to figure out, Recommended

pirch32s.gif
For windows 95. pIRCh is pretty good. Pretty much the same as mirc with a few little extras, but its a bit harder to configure and has a kind-of-wierd interface in my opinion

UNIX/X-Windows

IRCII
IRCII is a unix/x-windows irc client.
It's scripting language is kind of hard to learn.
Currently I do not have any links to or copies of IRCii on my site
I will have them soon, stay tuned.

IRCle
The most widely used Mac client, IRCle has all the features that many like. Because it's so widely used, development and support still continue for this popular client. See the homepage for many documents on it's use and functions

MacIRC
MacIRC is good for those who do not like IRCle, and is the second most widely used macintosh IRC Client.

AmIRC-web.gif

These are the hompages of these IRC Clients:
mIRC
vIRC
IRCle
pIRCh *
MacIRC
AmIRC

* This is the real pIRCh homepage. There is a http://www.pirch.com which contains a hacked version of pIRCh. Please do not go there. If you /ctcp username version someone while on IRC and they have lots of ascii characters and reference www.pirch.com in their reply please tell them to get rid of their hacked version and direct them to the proper page, http://www.bcpl.lib.md.us/~frappa/pirch.html
